Employment opportunities at Couran Cove Island Resort cover a variety of roles including Food and Beverage, Housekeeping, Recreation, Kitchen and Front Office.

We look for candidates with a friendly approach, professionalism and exceptional customer service. In return we provide full training, a unique island resort experience and amazing staff discounts for you, your friends and family.

The resort ferry takes approximately 35 minutes from Hope Harbour Marina to Couran Cove.  Ferries depart Hope Harbour and Couran Cove approximately every two hours, and team member rosters are based around these ferry times. The majority of our team commute to the resort each day to work.

The following positions are available:

Events Coordinator (Full-time)

We seek an enthusiastic and talented candidate who will demonstrate high levels of initiative, provide exceptional service and client support to ensure our conference, events and incentive programs are a great success.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Minimum 2 years experience as an Event Coordinator or similar role within a Four Star Hotel or Resort environment 
• Sound knowledge of Event Floor Operations 
• Demonstrated ability in managing a complex contractual process (including finalisation of contract details) 
• Excellent computer and administrative skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access) are essential 
• Experience in Event Pro Banquet software would be advantageous 
• Proven experience in building business links within the Events Industry
• Exceptional interpersonal and business communication skills including a proactive response to client enquiries 
• Proven ability to organise and prioritise effectively 
• Professional presentation and a confident, personable manner

Public Areas Attendant (Casual)

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to actively contribute to our team as a Public Area Cleaner.

The successful candidate will posess the following skills and attributes:

• Previous Public Area experience within a similar professional environment (Four Star Hotel or Resort) would be an advantage, including knowledge of cleaning products, chemicals and equipment 
• A sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Be physically fit, possess energy, versatility and initiative
• Ability to operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team 
• A positive, proactive response to guest requests 
• You will be well groomed, self-motivated, and energetic and your approach to work will be organised 
• Current clean manual drivers license

Guest Services Officer Porter (Casual)

We currently require a motivated individual to provide a warm and friendly welcome for our guests and their families, professional and efficient handling of luggage, and informative and enthusiastic transfer of guests to their accommodation.

If you are PASSIONATE about Customer Service, ENTHUSIASTIC and looking to work within a challenging and fun loving team, then we want to hear from YOU!

Selection Criteria includes:

• Previous Guest Services experience in a resort or hotel environment. 
• Active demonstration of proactive customer service for our guests at both our mainland ferry terminal and Island Resort
• Possess a sense of urgency and a keen eye for detail. 
• Ability to operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team, showing versatility and initiative at all times. 
• Excellent presentation and grooming is essential. 
• A current, clean (manual) drivers license is essential. 
• Must be computer literate. Previous use of a similar Front Office system would be advantageous. 
• Must be physically fit, keen to work outdoors, and work on a rotating roster including weekends.

Front Office Guest Service Attendant Reception (Casual)

• Previous experience in a Front Desk position in a Hotel / Customer Service field
• A passion for excellent guest service
• Enthusiasm, energy & flexibility to work within a 7 day rotating roster
• Demonstrated computer & administrative skills (Front Office systems such as Epitome, a definite advantage)
• Excellent presentation and ability to operate as part of our multi-disciplinary team
• Sense of urgency and an eye for detail

           The successful candidate must have reliable transport to get to and from our ferry terminal at Hope Island Marina.

Kitchen Steward

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team.

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

• Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment an advantage. 
• Exceptional standards of cleanliness. 
• Sense of urgency and eye for detail. 
• Excellent presentation, versatility and initiative. 
• Mature approach and ability to operate with limited supervision. 
• Availability to work shift work on a 7 day Roster, predominantly afternoon and evening shifts. 
• Current, clean drivers license. 

 

Day Spa Beauty/Massage Therapist (Casual)

We are seeking a qualified Beauty Therapist to join our wonderful Day Spa team. You will be reporting directly to the Day Spa Manager and your main role will include providing exceptional services and treatments to all guests by following department-operating standards, whilst maintaining an utmost professional manner and appearance.

Other key requirements include:

• Relevant Beauty Therapy qualifications with similar experience in a professional environment (Health Spa, Hotel or Resort). 
• A minimum of 2 years experience within the Beauty / Day Spa industry. 
• Experience in a variety of Massage techniques: Aromatherapy, Relaxation, Deep Tissue, Remedial and Pregnancy is essential.  
• Excellent grooming, superior communication skills and a positive, nurturing approach to clients. 
• Thalgo product/treatment knowledge desirable but not essential.  
• An ability to man/operate the Day Spa reception desk and bookings system (computer skills/experience essential). 
• Flexibility to work as required around our valued client base (may include weekends and some evening work).

Storeperson -Fulltime

We seek an experienced Storeperson to join our Purchasing Department in the day to day activies of delivering and storing the Resorts Food, Beverage and General purchasing requirements. Our barge comes to the island 2-3 times per week with all of our stock, a forklist licence is essential with an MR licence desirable. 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

•  Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, within a Hotel/Resort environment 
• Experience in movement and storage of stock, invoicing and administration
• Computer literate
• Current forklift licence essential
• Current Manual drivers licence
• Proven ability to organize, prioritise and operate autonomously
• Exceptional time management skills.   
• Ability to work well under pressure and be a positive representative of the Resort 
• Reliable transport

This position includes a physical component that includes but is not limited to: walking, carrying, lifting, pushing, reaching, bending and repetitious movements.
