Couran Cove Island Resort is located close to the Gold Coast mainland which makes on-shore visits a breeze to organise. Located along the boardwalk just next to the island reception building, our Activities and Tours Desk is the one-stop information and booking desk to assist in planning your holiday activities. Choose from a variety of tours on offer each day. You can prepare your week of adventure and fun by reading our Weekly Resort Activity guide provided to you on check-in, or available at the Island reception desk. Gold Coast activity brochures, from theme parks to golf courses, are also available at the Tours Desk or Island Reception.

Day Trips to Couran Cove Island Resort - Fully Guided Ecotourism Experience!

An invitation for you to experience a day at Couran Cove Island Resort. This is a unique experience away from the glitz and hustle of Surfers Paradise where you can discover a truly unique natural Ecotourism resort with the diversity of South Stradbroke Island's flora and fauna, while indulging in an international award-winning island resort with a diverse range of facilities and activities.

'Get Away For The Day' Package - incuding our NEW Koala Haven Experience

The day tour package includes return ferry transfers, bike hire, lunch at our Poolside Cafe at Spa Island, an afternoon fully guided tour to our Koala Haven experience, and access to all resort facilities (some resort facilities are at additional cost such as motorised watersports).

Bookings for this unique Ecotourism experience are $89 per adult, $49 per child (3 to 12 years), $69 for seniors and concession card holders, or $249 for a family of 2 adults and 2 children. Advance bookings are strictly subject to Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday only and may not be available during resort peak occupancies such as Australian school holidays and public holiday long weekends. Whale Watching Tours!!

Whale Watching tours are available from Couran Cove Island Resort from June to November !!!

Experience the annual migration of now over 10,000 majestic humpback whales from a luxury high speed wave piercing catamaran.The largest commercial whale watching vessel on the Gold Coast provides a licensed cocktail bar, souvenir shop and air-conditioned lounge areas, 5 outdoor spacious viewing areas and large video displays with informative commentary from their experienced eco-team and marine biologist.

Your half day discovery with Whale Watching Gold Coast includes the convenience of pick-up and drop-off right at our Island Resort - no need to transfer back to the mainland!!

Couran Cove also offers whale watching experiences for all those 'land lubbers', where you can get your free binoculars from our tour desk, then catch our resort shuttle train to the eastern beach dunes and watch the humpback whales frolicking close to shore. Our Beach Cam will also show their live play right to you in the comfort of your own hotel room.

Couran Cove Island resort is truly an island experience whilst having a Gold Coast holiday, and to enjoy all the mainland attractions with convenience and value, from 1 April all accommodation rates will include daily return ferry transfers at no additional cost!! This means your island holiday can make the most of all the Gold Coast attractions - yet you can return to the solitude of our natural island experience.

Enjoy a 4WD Pin Bar trip exploring the diversity of the ocean, beach and sand dunes of South Stradbroke Island's 22 kilometre foreshore. Book a fishing adventure or sailing excursion on the calm waters of the Gold Coast Broadwater.

Award-Winning Golf Courses

Play the beautiful and challenging fairways of two of Australia’s finest resort courses – Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island – a mere 15 minute water taxi ride from Couran Cove Island Resort. Golf tours include transfers, green fees and golf cart hire (club hire is additional).

World Famous Theme Parks

For an unforgettable day of family fun and entertainment, take a day trip to the world famous Gold Coast theme parks. Couran Cove is ideally located at the northern end of the Gold Coast, so the parks are just a short ferry, coach or taxi ride away from your island resort experience. Our Activities and Tours Desk can arrange theme park entry tickets and transfers to Dreamworld and Whitewater World, Movie World, Wet 'n' Wild and Sea World.
