Couran Cove Island Resort offers an ideal learning environment in the heart of untouched rainforest and abundant animal life. Learn about our ecofriendly measures as well as the island’s indigenous history. All educational tours are tailored to meet the needs of the school as well as the school curriculum.
Student Day Trip Package
The Couran Cove Student Day Trip Package is an informative and educational experience, allowing you to see some of the Gold Coast's unique island natural treasures.
Start the educational journey with a scenic ferry ride along the marine foreshore habitats of the Coomera River, South Stradbroke Island and the National Marine Park of the Gold Coast Broadwater to our resort. Once arrived, it's time to enjoy a healthy lunch (included in the package price). You'll then be met by our advance certified Environmental Guides to embark on your chosen tour (choice of one of two tours below)
Once you've finished your unique educational journey, it's time to enjoy and discover Couran Cove's diverse range of sporting and recreational facilities at your leisure. The ferry transfer back to the mainland is at 5.00pm.
Environmental Initiatives Tour
Go behind the scenes of a large scale working Ecotourism resort that is essentially self-sufficient from the mainland community. These areas cover Power Generation - LPG power station, Water Provision - underground watertable purification system, and Waste Management - worm farm, recycling waste management systems for liquid and solid wastes.
Eco Discovery Tour
Couran Cove has established itself as a leader in sustainable development and Ecotourism. We will look at how this site was developed to achieve these two goals and how we have set new standards in many areas including waste management, water pruification and the generation of electricity. This tour also covers the topic of our islands original ancestors, the aboriginals and their interaction with the native flora and fauna of South Stradbroke Island and the Moreton Bay marine area.
